02 · How a call-out works
Three steps. Back to work.
The same drill whether it is a starter motor on a ute or a crusher drive on a quarry floor.
You call. We triage on the phone.
What is the machine, what is it doing, where is it, and how urgent. Two minutes on the phone usually tells us what to bring, so the first visit is the fix, not a look.
We come to the machine.
Mine site, quarry, roadside or paddock. The ute carries diagnostic gear, tools, common parts and consumables. Inductions and paperwork are sorted before we roll through the gate.
Fixed, tested, written up.
The fault gets fixed at the cause, the machine gets run up and load-tested, and you get a job sheet with photos and a note on what to watch. Then it goes back to earning.

Blackwater sits in the middle of the Central Highlands mining corridor. Most sites in the Bowen Basin are inside two hours, and the Capricorn Highway is our driveway.

07 · Who turns up

No service desk. No apprentice sent on his own. You talk to Sid, Sid turns up.
S & P Robinson Heavy Diesel is owned and operated by Sid Robinson, a Blackwater local with a trade background in auto electrical and heavy diesel work and years on mine sites and around heavy plant. He has been fixing the machines that keep Central Queensland moving since 2023.
Mechanical and electrical in one person means no waiting for the "other bloke" to come out. Whether the fault is a snapped belt or a sensor that only plays up at operating temperature, it gets found and fixed on the same visit.
